Job Description

Salary: $132,200 - 132,200 per year Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of information security.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • 5 years of experience managing security engineering and operations teams within a federal contracting context.
  • 3 years of experience in managing relevant Certifications.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this role. If selected, I will require extensive personal information to secure and maintain eligibility for a Confidential/Secret or Top Secret security clearance as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities:
  • I am responsible for developing and executing the security engineering and operations strategy in alignment with our organizational objectives.
  • I will lead, mentor, and nurture a high-performing security team.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership, I will integrate security initiatives into our business processes.
  • I will design, implement, and maintain technical security controls across the organization.
  • Ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of security measures through regular assessments will be a key focus.
  • I will oversee the development and implementation of threat detection, monitoring, and incident response strategies.
  • Leading incident response efforts, including investigation, remediation, and reporting will be vital to this role.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate security risks is essential.
  • I will develop and maintain Security Engineering & Operations metrics, reporting them to senior and executive teams.
  • Establishing and enforcing policies and procedures aimed at managing and minimizing security vulnerabilities will also be my duty.
  • Maintaining existing Authority to Operate (ATO) certifications and securing new ATOs to support our growth is a priority.
  • I will ensure compliance with federal security frameworks such as NIST 800-53/171, FISMA, FedRAMP, CMMC, and other pertinent regulations.
  • Staying informed on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies is crucial.
  • I will implement continuous improvement practices to enhance our organization’s security posture.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related area, as well as certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or their equivalents.

As part of our contract with the Department of Defense, U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following the submission of the Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86 is required. The successful completion of the NACLC process is necessary for continued employment in this role, and I will assist in starting the NACLC process post-offer, which may take 3-6 months for final decision communication.

For remote workers, adhering to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy is a necessity. Compensation will be determined by various factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Along with the salary range of $132,200 to $226,600 annually for full-time employment, I will provide a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, as well as options for equity stock purchase and 401k contributions, all subject to eligibility requirements.
