Job Overview
The Sr Manager, Procurement at T-Mobile leads a team of professionals responsible for maximizing the performance, value, and resilience of T-Mobile’s strategic technology partners. This role ensures that vendors deliver consistently against contractual commitments, service level agreements (SLAs), and compliance requirements while building relationships that drive innovation, agility, and long-term business outcomes.
As a people leader, the Sr Manager develops and mentors a high-performing team that executes governance frameworks, including vendor scorecards, performance reviews, and risk management processes. By guiding the team to monitor vendor performance, financial health, security posture, and regulatory compliance, this leader ensures proactive risk mitigation and operational continuity.
The Sr Manager also drives value realization by ensuring vendors contribute measurable results to T-Mobile’s digital transformation and customer experience goals. Through benchmarking, market scanning, and continuous improvement, the team ensures vendor services remain competitive and future ready. This role will partner closely with Procurement to align on vendor lifecycle activities including renewals, renegotiations, and exit strategies in order to safeguard T-Mobile’s interests and maintain business agility.
Partnering across IT, finance, legal, and business stakeholders, the Sr Manager fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Ultimately, this role ensures that T-Mobile’s vendor ecosystem operates as a strategic enabler that delivers reliability, compliance, and sustained business value while developing and empowering a best-in-class vendor management team.

Job Responsibilities :

• Oversees a team of vendor management professionals, providing guidance and leadership to enhance performance.
• Manages vendor and strategic supplier relationships to secure advantageous terms and maintain supply chain reliability.
• Develops vendor management strategies that align with organizational goals and ensures cost-efficiency.
• Implements best practices and innovative solutions to improve the vendor management process.
• Ensures compliance with internal and external policies and regulations within the procurement department.
• Interacts regularly with internal and external executives to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
• Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Education and Work Experience :

• Bachelor's Degree Business, Finance, Technology, or Engineering (Required)
• Master's/Advanced Degree Business Administration or Supply Chain Management (Preferred)
• 7-10 years - Experience in leading and managing procurement processes and supply chain operations in a technology or wireless industry required.
• 7-10 years - Experience in developing and negotiating complex agreements with suppliers, including key program specifications and objectives required.
• 7-10 years - Experience in implementing procurement strategies and solutions to enhance supply chain effectiveness and cost-efficiency required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Vendor Management- Expertise in managing and negotiating with vendors to secure favorable terms and maintain supply chain efficiency. (Required)
• Strategic Planning- Ability to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's overall business goals. (Required)
• Leadership- Strong leadership skills to guide and develop a team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance culture. (Required)
• Problem Solving- Capability to identify and resolve complex issues within the procurement process to ensure operational continuity and efficiency. (Required)
• Negotiation- Proficient in negotiation to achieve optimal contract terms and cost savings while maintaining quality and service standards. (Required)
• Analytics- Strong analytical skills to assess procurement metrics and performance, facilitating data-driven decision making. (Required)
• Supply Chain Management- Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain operations including planning, forecasting, and inventory control. (Required)
• Communication- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders and lead executive-level presentations. (Required)
• Financial Analysis- Ability to perform financial analysis to evaluate vendor proposals and the overall cost-effectiveness of procurement activities. (Required)
• Change Management- Skills in managing change within the procurement department to adopt new processes and technologies effectively. (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications :

• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification from APICS that demonstrates knowledge in supply chain management and procurement processes. (Preferred)
• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) Certification from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) that indicates expertise in supply management and procurement. (Preferred)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Internationally recognized certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) that demonstrates proficiency in project management, useful for managing procurement projects. (Preferred)

Overland Park, KS Compensation Range: $140,300 - $189,800

Frisco, TX Compensation Range: $148,900 - $201,400

Base Pay Range: $128,800 - $232,400

Corporate Bonus Target: 20%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
