Colorado Independent Drivers United – Driver Support Organization (CIDU-DSO) is a worker organization, affiliated with CWA Local 7777, representing gig workers in Colorado, primarily Uber and Lyft drivers. For years, app-based workers have had their rights and their input into their working lives restricted. Finally, after years of struggle we were successful in passing legislation that provides education, transparency and deactivation protections for rideshare drivers.

People who drive for Uber, Lyft, and other gig companies come from all over the world, and CIDU supports drivers in dozens of languages. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; we are particularly looking for strong applicants who are comfortable speaking English, Spanish, Arabic, Amharic, Nepali/Nepalese, and Swahili/Kiswahili.

CIDU staff perform a wide range of duties. This role will require: 

• Represent and support rideshare drivers who have been deactivated from their accounts
• Ability to reach workers through various outreach methods including visiting work locations and homes, social media, and other forms of communication
• Identifying and developing worker leaders, building strong relationships, and developing and leading one-on-one and group trainings
• Developing and executing campaign strategies for education and outreach as well as for systemic improvements and policy changes
• Ability to understand and help others understand local, state, and federal laws and rights that impact drivers
• Working well within a team, and willingness to work long and irregular hours
• Maintaining records and databases, and proficiency in workplace applications especially Zoom, Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and car 
• Other duties, responsibilities, and activities that may change at any time

Particular consideration will be given to candidates with fluency in languages other than English; for-hire driving experience, and community leadership in the region’s diverse immigrant and refugee communities. CIDU - DSO offers a competitive salary starting at $65,000 – $75,000 based off of experience and qualifications and excellent benefits including family medical, dental and vision, paid time off, retirement, etc.
