Job Title: Pharmacist I
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Pharmacist I to join our team. The ideal candidate will be licensed, with a preference for experience in retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy settings. This position offers opportunities for growth and learning, and requires comfort with a contractor pay structure. The role involves working any 8-hour shift between 7 am and 7:30 pm, rotating every two weeks. A minimum of one year of experience, preferably with a retail organization, is preferred.
Responsibilities
Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.
Direct pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
Provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
Enter data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
Assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
Instruct interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy.
Be comfortable being on feet all day and occasionally push carts weighing up to 30 lbs.
Essential Skills
Must be licensed in IL.
Experience in retail pharmacy, such as CVS, Walgreens, or Target.
Strong multi-tasking abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Self-motivated and ambitious.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
