Job Duties:
Will be setting up & operating a variety of woodworking machines such as power saws, jointer, mortise, tenon cutter, molder, and shaper. Will cut and shape parts from wood-stock & use various hand tools to fabricate custom wooden cabinets. Will trim component parts of joints to ensure snug fit, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files. Will study blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed and plan sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed. Will bore holes for insertion of screws or dowels by hand or using boring machine. Will glue, fit & clamp parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit, using clamps or clamping machine. Will drive nails or other fasteners into joints at designated places to reinforce joints. Will sand & scrape surfaces and joints to prepare for finishing. May dip, brush, or spray assembled articles with protective or decorative materials, such as stain, varnish, or paint. May install hardware, such as hinges, catches,
